Did you know that a neighboring village and town depend on volunteer firefighters and that about 60% are Cornell students? Join us for this info session on how you can be part of this community service.
The Cayuga Heights Fire Department is recruiting new volunteer firefighters! CHFD is a majority-student organization responsible for fire protection and emergency medical services to the area immediately north of campus and a section of north campus. Serving as a firefighter or EMT with CHFD is a great way to give back to the local community, learn new skills, and be part of something larger than yourself. We also operate a live-in bunk at the fire station where student members can stay in dorm singles rent-free as part of their service. CHFD is a great group of people with a great mission, and we look forward to meeting you! If the thought of fighting fire, driving a fire truck, or responding to a medical emergency to help someone in need excites you, come by our info session to learn more about the department, what we look for, and how to apply. If you can’t make it to the info session, RSVP to our recruit dinner on 2/24. More information at chfd.net.
