Stage & Seating
The stage is 65’0” wide X 32’0” deep. Adding the stage extension brings the dimensions to 65’0” wide X 38’0” deep. The proscenium height is 27’6”. The current seating capacity is 1300. With the stage extension in place, there are 1220 seats. The first three rows of the orchestra accommodate a stage extension or an orchestra "pit" type arrangement. The last three rows of the orchestra center accommodate in-house mix or lighting arrangements. A few other locations at the back rows of the loge and balcony will accommodate wheelchair seating and/or follow spot locations.
The loading dock is located off of Garden Avenue Extension at the northeast corner of the building. The loading dock is 3’10½” up from the driveway. The loading door is 6’6” wide X 8’11” tall.
Projection & Video
Bailey Hall is equipped with a 35’X19’ retractable projection screen and a Panasonic PT-DZ8700U high definition digital projector. A Vista Systems Spyder is available for image processing. A Blackmagic Design ATEM 2 M/E production switcher provides simultaneous independent outputs to the projector and capture/streaming machines. Connected to the switcher are five Panasonic HE-120 PTZ cameras installed throughout the hall, with HD-SDI inputs/outputs and genlock at multiple locations for incorporating additional cameras and recording machines. Video infrastructure is fully digital and runs at 720p 60. Bailey Hall has three lecterns with connections to the projection system.
Bailey Hall features an Avid Profile Mix Rack system with 56 analog inputs, 24 analog outputs, and a fully digital broadcast mix output to the video switcher. A transformer isolated splitter and a Midas Verona 480/8/TP 48 channel console are available for productions calling for an on-stage monitor console, with XTA GQ600 1/3 octave EQs on each of eight outputs. Bailey provides six EAW SM129Z and four EAW SM159Z stage monitors on Lab.gruppen amps, and two JBL PRX-515s for side fills. Typically, monitors are mixed from FOH. Speakers are L-Acoustics dV-DOSC line array in a LCR configuration, on Lab.gruppen C Series power amplifiers. Subwoofers are L-Acoustics SB218, two per side. Front fill speakers are d&b E3s on d&b E-PAC power amplifiers.
For recordings and broadcast sound, Bailey Hall provides a motorized microphone array on a two-axis motion controller, allowing for precise and recallable location adjustments within the usable field. The microphone array consists of a Schoeps double M/S system, a pair of DPA 4028s in NOS, and a Schoeps omni. These six microphones are recorded to a Tascam HS-8, through Millennia mic preamps and Apogee converters. For multi-track recordings, each Avid Profile input channel can be patched to a discreet ProTools input for up to 48 tracks at 24bit/48kHz.T en channels of Shure UR series diversity wireless are available, with either Shure Beta-87 handheld or DPA 4060 lavalier microphones. Wired microphones include (6) Neumann KM184, (4) TLM-103, (2) Electrovoice RE-20, (2) Sennheiser 421, (4) e604, (2) e609, (1) Shure Beta-52, (12) SM-58, (6) SM-57, and an AKG 451.
The audio system will be set up according to requirements outlined in the technical rider and/or through the coordination of the event organizer. All technical riders and related information shall be provided to the Bailey Hall Technical Director no less than four weeks prior to the event. The sound system in Bailey Hall may be used by authorized and trained personnel only.
The stage lighting system consists of 96 ETC Sensor dimmers. The lighting plot is fixed and may not be altered. There are two (2) Robert Juliat Aramas HMI 2500 follow spotlights.The stage lighting system may be operated by authorized personnel only.
On the basement level, there is a men’s dressing room under stage right and a women’s dressing room under stage left. Both dressing rooms are outfitted with sinks, lighted mirrors, video, and audio monitoring systems.
For life threatening emergencies call 911. Be prepared to furnish the operator with the nature of the emergency, your location on campus and within the building. For non-life threatening injuries there is a first-aid kit available in the green room and box office. First-aid kits shall not be used for routine personal maintenance (i.e., taping of joints with prior knowledge of the injury, using bandages to prevent blistering, restocking personal supplies). The first-aid kit is for emergencies only. All emergencies must be reported to the Bailey Hall Operations manager or Technical Director.
A green room is available on stage level. This area is designed as a place for performers to congregate before getting to “places” to go on stage. There are monitor speakers and an in-house communications intercom station and a video monitor in the room.
Laundry & Wardrobe
There are no laundry facilities in Bailey Hall. Bailey Hall can provide an industrial steamer, ironing board, and iron.
Backstage restrooms are located on the basement level under the stage. Audience restrooms are located in the front of house in the lower lobby.
“Star” Dressing Room
Directly off the green room there is a “star” dressing room equipped with its own shower and restroom. This room is restricted to visiting groups and VIPs only.
