New Student Programming

Our student resource center opens on Monday, January 23, at 3:00pm. Meet our friendly student staff at our Info Desk in the Robert Purcell Community Center 101 and come to our programs designed to help you settle in and fast track your knowledge of Cornell. Check out our study areas and friendly gathering spaces. Watch out for our biweekly New Student Newsletter and take advantage of all we have to offer. We can’t wait to meet you!  

On-Going Services at the Tatkon Center

Programs planned for Spring 2023: 

Touchdown's Guide to Thrive: a series intended to support new students in making connections to resources across campus. Workshops for this semester include Getting Involved with Undergraduate Research, Connecting to Your Cornell Community, and a Housing Selection Demo. This program series runs every other Thursday from 7:00-8:00pm in RPCC 101 beginning Thursday, February 9th.

Politics and Robes

: Join the North Campus faculty-in-residence and the Tatkon Center for New Students for a series for new students to learn about some of the key cases on the Supreme Court docket. Each session will be facilitated by a legal scholar and a content expert. This program series runs every other Friday from 4:00-5:00pm in RPCC 101 beginning Friday, February 3rd.

Wellness Wednesday: a series focused on empowering students to explore the multidimensional facets of wellness will occur on the third Wednesday of every month from 7:00-8:00pm (February 15th, March 15th, and April 19th). Topics include healthy relationships and values exploration, public health and wellness, and Nature RX.

Housing Selection Demos: Join Housing and Residential Life and the Tatkon Center for New Students for a room selection information session is a great opportunity to learn about your second-year room selection options, the room selection process, and see a live demonstration of the room selection system. Each session will include a Q&A, so please bring your questions for our housing team! We will be hosting three sessions on February 9th, February 16th , and March 7th.

Starting Your Semester Strong, Sunday, January 29th, from 3:00-4:00pm in the Tatkon Center (RPCC 101):

Whether you are gearing up for a new semester or a new experience as a Cornell student, the Learning Strategies Center can help you start the semester on the right foot!
