Tenants Legal Hotline

Are you pre-law or interested in learning more about housing law?

The Ithaca Tenants Legal Hotline is looking for volunteers for the rest of the Spring semester! The hotline provides free, brief legal advice for Ithaca tenants having issues with their landlords. Cornell law students work in collaboration with pro bono attorneys on the case side and as volunteers, we work on the intake - answering calls and emails from tenants. It’s fully remote and hours are completely flexible.

NOTE: Professor Michaela Azemi and a group of Cornell law students, are offering an incentive for those who volunteer one day every week until the end of the semester. She will be offering these lunch sessions during the first two weeks of May to talk with you about law school, your application process, and even go over your resume! Meet with her and current law students, in the law school or via Zoom for a one-on-one meeting as a thank you for spending an hour per week of your time helping tenants in the local Ithaca community!
