Jon Burdick

Jon has served as Cornell’s first Vice Provost for Enrollment since 2019.  A California native, Burdick had led enrollment activities at the University of Southern California (USC) and the University of Rochester before Cornell. Burdick has been honored by colleagues as a national leader in higher education diversity, inclusion, and access. When admissions and aid are hot topics, he offers Cornell’s voice often in media.As VPE, Burdick oversees admission and registrar leaders across all of Cornell’s colleges and schools as well as the financial aid and student employment office. Committed to both “any person…any study” and “One Cornell,” Burdick has taken substantial new steps to broaden Cornell’s socioeconomic diversity, and has a central role guaranteeing that CU enrollment and affordability will both grow by 2026 and beyond.Burdick is a graduate of USC, an avid international traveler, and father of two. An enthusiastic transplant to Ithaca, he can be seen almost every day and in all weathers commuting on foot to campus and hiking with his dogs.
