Applying to Medical and Dental Schools
The Cornell Health Careers Advising Program supports pre-health Cornell students and alumni through the preparation and application processes through direct advising, workshops, and resources. Applicants may seek advising from the Director of the Health Careers Advising Program, Dr. Chelsea Rule, or from any of the Health Careers Advisors in your college and/or unit.
Separate from advising, the Health Careers Evaluation Committee writes a letter of evaluation (known as a committee letter) on behalf of juniors, seniors, and alumni that register with them. Visit the HCEC pages for details on the committee letter process.
The following pages provide an overview of the application process and timeline for Cornellians applying to medical and dental schools. In the fall of the year that you apply to medical or dental school, you will participate in a Canvas course called HCA-APP that will walk you through the specifics of applying and obtaining a Cornell committee letter.
