Cancelled for Summer 2020: Cornell Camps & Clinics Rock Climbing & Outdoor Adventure Camp (3 one week sessions)

Spend your day running a wide variety of outdoor adventures with kids ages 8-16. Includes rock climbing, rappel, tree climbing, canoeing, and challenge course elements. Half of each day will be spent rock climbing indoors at the Lindseth Climbing Center.

  1. Monday, July 13 - Friday, July 17; 8:30am-5:30pm

  2. Monday, July 20 - Friday, July 24; 8:30am-5:30pm

  3. Monday, July 27 - Friday, July 31; 8:30am-5:30pm

Required Skills/Training:

  • Well rounded in the activities listed above. We recognize not everyone will have experience in all activities and training is provided.

  • Top Rope Belay certification at the Lindseth Climbing Center

  • Level 1 HCC High Element Facilitator (training is available free of charge, dates TBD)

  • A desire/willingness to work with kids (ages 8-16) for long days.

  • First Aid/CPR certification

  • 2 Full-day Summer Camp Training July 9 & 10 (paid)

  • COE van certification before the start of camp preferred

Benefits:

Cancelled for Summer 2020: CAU Juniors and Teen Outdoor Adventure Camp (4 one week sessions)

Spend your day running a wide variety of outdoor adventures with kids ages 8-16. Includes rock climbing, rappel, tree climbing, canoeing, and challenge course elements. You have the option to work the morning session only, afternoon session only, or both sessions each day.

  1. Monday, July 6 - Friday, July 10; 8:45am-12:00pm, 12:45pm-4:00pm

  2. Monday, July 13 - Friday, July 17; 8:45am-12:00pm, 12:45pm-4:00pm

  3. Monday, July 20 - Friday, July 24; 8:45am-12:00pm, 12:45pm-4:00pm

  4. Monday, July 27 - Friday, July 31; 8:45am-12:00pm, 12:45pm-4:00pm

Required Skills:

Cancelled for Summer 2020: Summer Camp Super Lead (5 one week sessions)

This position provides technical support to all COE summer camps. Primarily responsible for setting up and supervising tree climbing and Hoffman Challenge high elements. Other support duties as assigned. Training is available for the right candidate.

  1. Monday, June 29 - Friday, July 3; 8:00am-5:30pm
  2. Monday, July 6 - Friday, July 10; 8:00am-5:30pm
  3. Monday, July 13 - Friday, July 17; 8:00am-5:30pm
  4. Monday, July 20 - Friday, July 24; 8:00am-5:30pm
  5. Monday, July 27 - Friday, July 31; 8:00am-5:30pm

Required Skills/Training:

  • Level 2 HCC High Element Facilitator, including the ability to set up and run high elements & tower without any supervision.
  • Familiarity with technical tree climbing and ability to set up and run the Tree Climbing Platforms at HCC
  • Top Rope Belay certification at the Lindseth Climbing Center
  • Assist with camp training June 25 & 26
  • First Aid/CPR certification

Cancelled for Summer 2020: Cornell Adult University Bike the Finger Lakes

A week long course that highlights the area's attractions by bike. Direct interest and questions to rjc288@cornell.edu.

July 7; 5:00pm-9:00pm

July 8-12; 8:30am-4:30pm (July 10 ends early at 1pm)

July 12; 6:00pm-9:00pm

Required skills:

  • Ability to ride 30 miles a day with 2000' of climbing.

  • COE van and trailer certification (training available) 

  • Willingness to work with adults

  • First Aid/CPR

  • Bike repair skills preferred

  • Familiarity with road biking around Ithaca preferred

Benefits:

  • $500 for the course

  • Breakfast and lunch provided Monday-Friday
